Held by Love has received an extraordinary commitment from the Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia:
If our community helps us raise $1,000, the Foundation has committed to match it with another $1,000.
That means the first $1,000 we raise can become $2,000 of direct momentum for Love Loads—our community laundry outreach created to help individuals and families facing financial hardship experience something many of us rarely have to think twice about:
Clean clothes. Clean bedding. Dignity. Relief.
And we do not want to leave this opportunity on the table.
Why Laundry?
When someone is struggling financially, laundry can quickly become one more expense they simply cannot absorb.
A few loads of clothes may mean choosing between detergent and dinner.
A laundromat visit may compete with gasoline needed to get to work.
A parent may stretch clean clothes for their children as long as possible because there simply isn’t enough money left at the end of the week.
For someone living in a hotel, vehicle, temporary shelter, or unstable housing situation, even having access to a washer and dryer can become a serious obstacle.
Laundry may seem small—until you don’t have the money to do it.
Then it affects everything.
It affects how you feel walking into work.
It affects whether a child has clean clothes for school.
It affects confidence.
