Write a Note of Encouragement — Matthew 25 Challenge, August 26, 2026

Matthew 25 Challenge — Write a Note of Encouragement — August 26, 2026

Sometimes a few sincere words arrive at exactly the right moment.

Someone around you may be carrying disappointment, loneliness, grief, exhaustion, or a battle you know nothing about. Today, love can look like slowing down long enough to put encouragement into words and making sure another person knows they matter.

Today’s Challenge: WRITE A NOTE OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Write one genuine note, card, text, or message of encouragement for someone today. Tell them what you appreciate about them, remind them of their worth, thank them for the difference they have made, or simply let them know they are not alone.

The goal is not to fix someone’s circumstances. It is to offer a small light in the middle of whatever they may be carrying.

A Few Kind Words Can Travel Far

Leave a kind note on a coworker’s desk. Write a card for someone going through a difficult season. Send a thoughtful text to someone you have not checked on lately. Thank a person who has made a difference in your life. Share an encouraging thought with someone who needs hope.

Make it personal. Make it sincere. You do not need perfect words—you only need words that are true.

Love Protects Dignity

Encouragement should never turn another person’s vulnerable moment into content. If you share your participation in today’s challenge, share your own act or the note you created without exposing someone else’s private struggle. Photograph or identify another person only when they freely want to participate.

The Heart Behind the Challenge

Matthew 25 reminds us to notice people and respond with compassion. Feeding, welcoming, clothing, caring, and visiting all begin with the same first step: seeing the person in front of us.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” — Matthew 25:35–36 (NIV)

Today we practice that same spirit through encouragement: noticing someone, choosing kindness, and reminding them that their life matters.

Get Caught in the Act of Love

One note. One person. One moment of encouragement.

You may never know how far those words travel—but love does not have to be large to be powerful.

LOVE SEES. LOVE SERVES. LOVE STAYS. LOVE LOOKS LIKE THIS.

GET CAUGHT IN THE ACT OF LOVE. LIGHT UP THE MAP.
