What Is the Matthew 25 Challenge? How to Join Held by Love

2 min read

The Matthew 25 Challenge is Held by Love’s invitation to turn compassion into practical action. It began in Northwest Georgia, but participation is not limited by geography: anyone can choose an act of kindness, serve a neighbor, support someone facing hardship, or invite others to make love visible in their own community.

What is the Matthew 25 Challenge?

The challenge is built around a simple idea: kindness should become something people can see and experience. Held by Love encourages ordinary people to practice compassion through real-world actions — from helping one person through a difficult day to supporting community outreach that restores dignity and stability.

Who can participate?

Anyone. You do not have to live in Georgia, belong to a particular organization, or make a financial contribution. A person can participate by completing a kindness challenge, volunteering, helping a neighbor, sharing an act of compassion, becoming an ambassador, or encouraging someone else to join.

How do I join?

Start with the Matthew 25 Challenge page. From there, you can choose a way to participate that fits your life and your community. People who want to help spread the movement can also become a Held by Love Ambassador.

What does Held by Love do beyond the challenge?

Held by Love is developing practical, dignity-centered ways to help people facing homelessness, financial hardship, and other barriers. One example is Love Loads, a laundry-support initiative designed to help people access clean clothing with dignity. The larger Tree of Life vision connects immediate compassion with longer-term pathways toward stability and belonging.

Where is Held by Love based?

Held by Love is based in Dalton and Northwest Georgia. Its local work is rooted there, while the Matthew 25 Challenge is intentionally open to people and communities across the United States and beyond.

How can I support Held by Love?

Support can take many forms: participate in the challenge, volunteer, share the movement, become an ambassador, support a local outreach effort, attend a Held by Love event, or give through an official Held by Love giving opportunity. The goal is not simply to raise awareness; it is to help compassion become visible action.

Love is not only something we believe. It is something we do.
