Matthew 25 Challenge for September 2, 2026: Offer to Help With a Chore or Errand

Sometimes love looks like noticing that someone is carrying too much — and choosing to carry a little of it with them.

Today’s Challenge

OFFER TO HELP WITH A CHORE OR ERRAND.

Look for someone who could use a hand and step in. Offer help with a chore, task, or errand to lighten their load. Small acts of service can make a big difference.

Simple Ways to Take Action

Help with a chore. Run an errand. Offer to lift or move something. Clean or organize. Help with yard work or another task. The act does not need to be large; it only needs to meet a real need with genuine care.

Service Makes Love Visible

There are people around us every day who are tired, overwhelmed, aging, recovering, caring for others, working long hours, or simply facing more than one person can comfortably manage. We may not be able to change everything they are carrying, but we can make one part of the day lighter.

Instead of waiting for someone to ask, pay attention. Notice the groceries that need carrying, the yard that needs attention, the errand that could save someone a trip, or the small job that becomes much easier with another pair of hands. Then ask respectfully: “Would it help if I took care of that for you?”

Scripture for Today

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26

Jesus turned the world’s idea of greatness upside down. Greatness is not found in being above others. It is found in being willing to serve them. Today gives us an opportunity to practice that teaching in an ordinary, practical way.

Get Caught in the Act of Love

If you share your participation, share your act and inspire others while protecting the dignity and privacy of the person you help. Never photograph or identify someone without freely given consent. The chore, groceries, tools, cleaned space, or your own hands at work can tell the story without turning another person into content.

ONE ACT. ONE PERSON. ONE DAY AT A TIME.

LOVE SEES. LOVE SERVES. LOVE STAYS. LOVE LOOKS LIKE THIS.
