Lend a Helping Hand — Matthew 25 Challenge | September 7–13, 2026

One act. One person. One week at a time.

This week, the Matthew 25 Challenge is simple:

🤝 LEND A HELPING HAND

Look around you for someone carrying a burden that you could help make a little lighter.

Maybe an older neighbor needs help getting groceries inside. Maybe someone without transportation needs a ride. Maybe there is a small repair or chore that has become overwhelming for someone. Maybe a friend, coworker, parent, or stranger simply needs another set of hands.

You don't have to solve someone's whole problem.

Just help carry one piece of it.

❤️ Ways to Take the Challenge

This week, look for an opportunity to:

• Give someone a ride.

• Pick up or carry groceries.

• Help with a small chore or repair.

• Assist a neighbor with something they are struggling to do alone.

• Notice a practical need and offer your hands before being asked.

The act doesn't have to be dramatic. Sometimes twenty minutes of your time can remove a burden someone has been worrying about for days.

📖 Why We Do It

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for Me.” — Matthew 25:40

Matthew 25 reminds us that love isn't only something we believe.

Love becomes visible through what we do.

When we serve another person with dignity and without expecting anything in return, an ordinary moment can become something sacred.

🌈 Get Caught in the Act of Love

We're challenging you to complete at least one act this week.

And we'd love to see this movement spread.

If you share your participation, photograph the act rather than the person receiving it whenever possible. Show the groceries you're carrying, the lawn you're helping with, the tool in your hand, or another piece of the act itself.

Protect people's dignity and privacy. Never photograph, identify, or tell someone's personal story without their freely given permission.
