Small Does Not Mean Insignificant — Matthew 25 Challenge

Sometimes we wait to do good because we are waiting for an opportunity to do something big.

But most love doesn't arrive with trumpets. It happens quietly.

Someone notices that another person hasn't eaten and shares a snack. Someone sees an exhausted coworker and says, ‘I've got this one.’ Someone pays attention long enough to realize a friend needs encouragement. Someone leaves a note. Someone offers a drink. Someone smiles at the person everyone else walked past.

None of these things will make the evening news. But they may change someone's day. And sometimes changing a day changes what happens tomorrow.

Today's Matthew 25 Challenge: Share a Kindness

Don't overthink it. Pay attention to the people around you and ask yourself: What would love look like here?

Maybe it looks like patience. Maybe it looks like generosity. Maybe it looks like giving something. Maybe it looks like helping. Maybe it looks like sitting beside someone for five minutes.

The size of the action isn't what makes it meaningful. Love does.

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. — Matthew 25:40

Matthew 25 reminds us that ordinary encounters with ordinary people can become sacred moments. When we feed, welcome, clothe, visit, notice, help and care for one another, love becomes something another human being can actually experience.

So today, find your one.

One person. One opportunity. One kindness.

And do it.

Not because someone is watching. Not because you need credit. Simply because another human being crossed your path—and you had the opportunity to leave a little more love there than you found.
