There are some things most of us rarely think twice about—until we can no longer afford them. Clean clothes are one of them.

A washer. A dryer. A little detergent. A few quarters. For someone living paycheck to paycheck, staying in a hotel, sleeping in a vehicle, experiencing homelessness, or simply trying to survive an unexpected financial crisis, the cost of doing laundry can become one more impossible choice.

Food or laundry? Gas or laundry? Medicine or laundry?

That is why Held by Love is building Love Loads.

What Is Love Loads?

Love Loads is a Held by Love community program designed to help individuals and families access clean laundry when the cost of washing their clothes has become a barrier.

Our goal is simple: partner with local laundromats, businesses, donors, volunteers, and community organizations so that people facing hardship can wash and dry their clothes without having to sacrifice another basic need.

A Love Load can help cover washer and dryer costs, detergent and basic supplies, direct laundry assistance for individuals and families facing hardship, community laundry days through participating laundromats, and partnerships that let local businesses become part of a practical, dignity-centered solution.

This is not about charity from a distance. It is about standing beside someone and saying: You matter. Your dignity matters. And your community has not forgotten you.

Why Laundry Matters More Than We Realize

Clean clothing affects nearly every part of life. It can mean walking into a job interview with confidence, sending a child to school without fear of embarrassment, having clean work clothes for another shift, or simply having fresh blankets and clean socks during a difficult season.

Something as ordinary as a load of laundry can restore a little dignity, confidence, and hope. That is what Held by Love means when we talk about compassion in action.

Matthew 25 reminds us that love is not merely something we say. It is something we do.

We Are Building Love Loads With Our Community

Love Loads is being developed as one of the first practical outreach programs of Held by Love. We are working toward partnerships with laundromats and community supporters who want to help make laundry assistance available to people who need it.
