A Cup of Water Can Be Love — Matthew 25 Challenge, August 24, 2026

Matthew 25 Challenge card for August 24, 2026: Offer a Drink.

Some acts of kindness are so simple that we almost overlook them.

A cold bottle of water. A cup of coffee. A glass of tea. A warm mug handed to someone who has been working, waiting, walking, serving, or simply having a hard day.

We do not have to solve someone's whole situation to make love visible. Sometimes we only need to notice one small need and meet it with care.

Today's Matthew 25 Challenge: OFFER A DRINK

Today, offer one person something to drink.

It might be a bottle of water for someone working outside, a cold drink for a delivery driver, a cup of coffee for a tired coworker, or a glass of water for someone you notice while you are out.

Keep it simple. Keep it respectful. Ask rather than assume, and let the person freely say yes or no.

“I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.” — Matthew 25:35

Jesus placed something as ordinary as giving a drink beside feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, clothing the vulnerable, caring for the sick, and visiting the forgotten.

That tells us something important: small acts of care are not small when they restore comfort, dignity, or human connection.

One Person. One Drink. One Act of Love.

You do not need a program, a committee, or a large budget to take part today. You only need to pay attention.

Notice one person. Offer one drink. Let the kindness be enough.

And if you share the challenge, share your own participation—not another person's vulnerable moment without their permission.
