Shang Ri La Pour Tous Jours
A Sanctuary of Renewal for Homeless Veterans, Animals, and All in Need
Shang Ri La Pour Tous Jours is envisioned as a living sanctuary inspired by the timeless ideal of Shangri-La—a place of peace, dignity, and renewal. It is a refuge where those who have sacrificed much, especially veterans, can find not only shelter but a pathway to stability, healing, and purpose. Our vision embraces both humans and animals, uniting them in mutually transformative relationships.

Mission
Our mission is to restore stability, purpose, and belonging for homeless veterans while modeling a self-sustaining, inclusive, and compassionate way of life. Through holistic care, sustainable living, and innovative programs—including the transformative Vets for Pets initiative—Shang Ri La Pour Tous Jours will demonstrate that healing, empathy, and human-animal connection can coexist in one resilient community.

Community impact: Reduces shelter overcrowding and promotes positive public engagement.
By integrating human and animal rehabilitation, the community fosters interdependent healing, emotional resilience, and social connection.

Animal participants: Shelter animals at risk of euthanasia who can thrive in a supportive home environment with veterans.
This inclusive approach maximizes social and emotional impact while building a community rooted in empathy, responsibility, and interconnection.
Why We Qualify
The leadership team brings deep personal lived experience of homelessness, trauma, and veteran life:
Veterans who have endured combat, displacement, and reintegration challenges.
Survivors of trauma and housing instability who understand loss and recovery.
Community organizers and healers committed to sustainable, trauma-informed, and inclusive living.
Our team embodies the mission: we have lived the struggle, and we are living proof of the power of community, healing, and mutual rescue—for humans and animals alike.
Funding Justification
Shang Ri La Pour Tous Jours addresses urgent societal needs:
Veteran homelessness: Over 33,000 veterans experience homelessness nightly in the U.S. (HUD, 2023).
Mental health crisis: Veterans face disproportionately high rates of PTSD, depression, and suicide.
Animal welfare: Thousands of companion animals face euthanasia annually due to overcrowded shelters.
Sustainable housing: There is a national gap in eco-friendly, self-sustaining housing solutions.
Alignment with funder priorities:
Federal/State Initiatives: Supports HUD-VASH, VA Homeless Programs, and ESG housing grants.
Animal welfare foundations: Programs like Vets for Pets appeal to grants supporting rescue, fostering, and adoption.
Corporate ESG & CSR: Projects demonstrate alignment with environmental, social, and governance principles.
Hybrid funding potential: Federal and state grants, green infrastructure funds, veteran services, private foundations, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Investing in Shang Ri La Pour Tous Jours simultaneously rescues lives—human and animal—while creating a scalable, replicable model for compassionate, sustainable communities.
